National Hydrocarbons Corporation: Int’l War College Officers Visit Institution

F ifty-four officers from 23 countries across two continents (Africa and Europe), all undergoing refres­ her courses at the Internatio­ nal War College in Yaounde (21st Batch) have paid a wor­ king visit to the National Hy­ drocarbons Corporation, better known by its French abbre­ viation, SNH. The working ses­ sion of July 20, 2026 between the officers, led by the Com­ mander of the college, Briga­ dier General Nka Valère and officials of SNH led by the Adviser No 2, Nathalie Mou­ diki, representative of the Exe­ cutive General Manager, ser­ ved as a platform for infor­ mation sharing on the mis­ sions and achievements of the hydrocarbons corporation. The officers were presented with the different activities of SNH, from exploration to production, sales and security of sites. Indeed, the officers were told that exploration is the initial phase of the oil and gaz industry upstream sector with SNH having the objective of identifying hydrocarbons across the national territory, both on and offshore for pos­ sible production. Technologies are then mobilised, sometimes with partners, for exploitation and production, all guided by a legal framework. On produc­ tion, the men and women in uniform were told it is the stage that transforms poten­ tials in the field to economic prowess. The activities of part­ ners are monitored and controlled to ensure confor­ mity with norms. With regards to natural gaz, the officials note that once’ it is produced, precedence is on valorisation.
