U23 AFCON : Cameroon To Face Mali Today

With only one point to their credit, the U23 Lions of Cameroon will be seeking for a win in their second group A game today, October 11, 2019.

After playing drawing 1-1 with the Black Meteors of Ghana in their first outing on Friday, October 8, 2019 at the ongoing U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, the U23 Lions of Cameroon will take on Mali in their second group A game today, October 11, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. During the first match against Ghana Franck Evina scored the curtain raiser for Cameroon at the 59th minute. However, Ghana equalised three minutes in extra time through substitute player, Mohammed Habib. 
From the result on Friday, Head coach, Rigobert Song Bahanag, and the technical staff have been working with the players to correct the errors of the first game and make adjustments where necessary. With only one point to their credit, the U23 Lions of Cameroon will be seeking for a win today in order to secure a comfortable position in the group. It should be recalled that Cameroon began the competition with only 18 players. Reports from Cairo say the team will be with a full squad of 21 players for their second group game today at the Cairo International Stadium. Four of the Cameroon players listed for the tournament did not play the first game on Friday due to club obligations.
