Evolution of Covid-19 : 12,270 Confirmed Cases, 7,774 Recoveries

This was revealed during the daily press briefing on the situation of the pandemic in the country.


The epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country shows that as of yesterday June 23, 2020, some 229 new confirmed cases were registered, out of 2004 tested samples. Also, five deaths and 34 new recoveries from the virus were also recorded. This gave a total of 12, 270 confirmed cases, 7, 774 recoveries and 313 deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic in Cameroon. These statistics were presented yesterday June 23, 2020, by the Director of Disease Control at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr Georges Alain Etoundi Mballa, during the daily press briefing on the evolution of the pandemic in the country. 
With the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, Dr Georges Alain Etoundi reiterated the need for everybody to mobilise and be committed to the fight against Covid-19. As such the population was again called upon to continue to comply with barrier measures put in place to curb the virus. That is washing hands with clean running water and soap or using an alcohol-based solution; covering the nose and mouth with a disposable tissue when coughing or sneezing. The Director of Disease Control also called on Cameroonians to avoid close contact with anyone with flu symptoms; maintain physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres; stay at home as much as possible, go out only when necessary while wearing a face mask at any given time.
