Algeria Set For Cameroon Clash

The Desert Foxes are training in Malabo to adjust to the climate before heading for Douala today, Thursday March 24, 2022.

One day to the much-awaited FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, the Desert Foxes of Algeria are set for the clash. To prepare for the double confrontation, the Algerian national team is training in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to adjust to the climate before heading for Douala. The Algerians arrived in Equatorial Guinea on Monday March 21, 2022. Shortly after their arrival, the players had a light training session to keep them in form after the five-hour trip from Algiers. The team has taken up residence at the Sofitel Malabo Sipopo Le Golf Hotel.
On March 22, the team had two training sessions including video analysis which is proof of how prepared they are for the away leg and to fortify themselves for the match. Training sessions are taking place behind closed doors. As a result, very little or no information filters out from the team. The Algerian are expected to arrive in Douala today, Thursday March 24, 2022. Coach Djamel Belmadi will be coming to Cameroon with 24 players. Among the players invited are Youcel Belaili but there is the absence of his team mate in Stade Brestois, Haris Belkebla. The choice has caused a lot of criticism from Algerian supporters.
