Cameroon-Algeria : Qatar, Lion’s Ultimate Objective

After having failed to win the AFCON trophy, the Lions will need to go an extra mile so as to secure a ticket for the World Cup.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will play against the Fennecs of Algeria in the away leg of the 2022 World Cup qualifier game today Friday March 25, 2022 in the Japoma Stadium in Douala. The encounter will take place at 6:00 p.m. (Cameroon time). The match will be the team’s fourth international game at the venue. The previous outings at the venue have produced two wins and a draw. One month after the Lions finished third in the Africa Cup of Nations in their own country, today’s match will be a crucial one for the Indomitable Lions as they will be seeking for a spot in the World Cup in Qatar.

The Indomitable Lions have been training at the Annex Stadium of the Japoma Sports Complex in Douala since Monday March 21, 2022 under the supervision of the head coach Rigobert Song Bahanag. As at Tuesday March 22, the team was already complete. Out of the 27 players invited for the double confrontation two of them forward, Moumi Ngamaleu and midfielder, Franck Zambo Anguissa, have been ruled out due to injuries. Napoli midfielder Zambo Anguissa was injured last weekend when turning out for his club against Udinese in a Serie A game. The story is similar to that of Moumi Ngamaleu who was also out on club duty. The absence of the two players has not affected the team as they have since been replaced.
