Parliament : Session Of Readjustments

The June 2022 ordinary session of Parliament will open today, June 7, 2022.

Members of the National Assembly will today, June 7, 2022 at 11 : am converge on the Yaounde Conference  Centre for the opening plenary sitting of the Lower House of Parliament and Senators on their own part will attend the opening plenary sitting of the Upper House of Parliament  the same day  at 4: pm.
The June 2022 ordinary session will from every indication be that of readjustments and re-adaptation of government priorities following the national and international contexts. The parliamentarians are certainly expecting the government bill on Ordinance No.2022/001 of 2 June 2022 to amend and supplement some provisions of Law No. 2021/26 of 16 December 2021: Finance Law of the Republic of Cameroon for the 2022 financial year. The Head of State, President Paul Biya in the ordinance signed on June 2, 2022.  Following the ordinance, the State budget for the 2022 financial year has witnessed an increase by FCFA 328 billion. The budget is therefore now balanced in revenue and expenditure at FCFA 6 080 400 000 000, including FCFA 5 977 700 000 000 for the general budget and FCFA 102 7000 000 000 for special appropriations accounts. Innovations contained in the ordinance include the payment for Covid-19 PCR screening test at FCFA 30, 000 per test. This is because the resources to contain the spread of the pandemic and cure patients had dropped from FCFA 65 billion as provided for in the National Solidarity Fund to FCFA 50 billion. The initially budgetary allocations for some institutions of sovereignty and ministries has dropped.
