Djene Djento Passes On!

Makossa singer, Djene Djento is reported dead following a malaise.  The music artist whose real names are Alain Jene (born at Ngodi neighbourhood in Douala) is said to have been on a journey on December 15, 2022 from his native Douala for Dschang in the West Region of Cameroon where he was to stage a performance. The 59-year-old reportedly felt unwell in the car that was transporting him and was taken to a medical establishment in Loum in the Moungo Division of the Littoral Region, where he lost the brief battle against the malaise, according to initial information. 
News of Djene Djento's death quickly went viral, sparking a wave of emotion on social media. This is all the more so since his death comes just three days after that of Ekambi Brillant, another icon of Cameroonian music who died on December 12 as a result of illness.
According to traditional media, the author of the famous title "Debrousailler," released way back in 1984, was a victim of a malaise.
"Debrousailler" which was released 38 years ago, shocked the Cameroon music airwaves and fetched for him a name in his music genre. "Debrousailler" – a tribute to farmers – praised agriculture as a convincing source of income.
