The visit of the Head of State to Maroua September 28 was an opportunity to strengthen relations with the population who has promised to overwhelmingly vote him in the October 7 election.
If population turnout and promises were the only parameters in elections, then incumbent President Paul Biya would already be sure of at least pocketing sizeable votes from the three northern regions of the country come Sunday October 7, 2018. The Adamawa, North and Far North Regions that count about three million of the 6.9 million eligible voters for the upcoming presidential election have described President Paul Biya as “a right man for the job” promising to fully and unconditionally draw full length to give him another mandate on October 7, 2018. Like the Government Delegate, the Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, who spoke on behalf of the elite of the three northern regions said, “There is only one man – Paul Biya, who surmounts our challenges. The indefatigable builder who has and will continually help us to live and let others live.’ The Boko Haram’s insurgency and the efforts deployed by President Paul Biya to now bring the bestial sect to near zero, the creation of the Fourth Combined Military and Gendarmerie Region in Maroua likewise the creation of the Multinational Joint Task Force with headquarters in Maroua thanks to President Paul Biya’s clair...
