Frankline Ndifor Afanwi, one of the first timers in the just ended presidential election has disclosed that the end of the October 7 poll marked the termination of his alliance with the Cameroon National Citizen Movement (CNCM). He told Cameroon Tribune that he was chosen to run the presidential race on the banner of a coalition of the CNCM because at the time of submission of candidatures, he did not have what it takes to run for the office of President of the Republic.
He had just been elected president of the National Programme for Peace in Cameroon (NPPC) created in September 2017. Media reports say he defeated the nominated pioneer president of the NPPC, Alain Bertin Lepalou by landslide to become its first democratically elected leader.
