Bilingualism, Multiculturalism : Commission Plans For More Successes in 2019

The second quarter session of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism for 2018 held in Yaounde on December 18, 2018.

Members of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism are committed to accelerate the implementation of their activities in 2019 so as to fully satisfy the Head of State, who in all his speeches during official ceremonies always lays emphasis on it as a tool of reinforcing national unity and the willingness of Cameroonians to live together. The Chairperson of the Commission, Peter Mafany Musonge reminded members of the daunting task as he presided at the second quarter session of the Commission for 2018 yesterday. The session was dedicated to examine the draft report by the Committee, reflect on the crisis in the North West and South West Regions, present and adopt the draft action plan for the 2019 financial year and make a recapitulation of the obligations to which the members are subject in the discharge of their duties. In 2019, the Bilingualism and Multiculturalism Commission will build on the achievements of 2018, Musonge said during his opening statement. One of the main achievements has been audiences he granted to a multitude of heads of diplomatic representatives based in Yaounde and some Senior Officials of international organisations on their request. They will address the concerns and expectations raised by the personalities with regard to the missions and achievements of the commission relating to mediation and the processing of petitions denouncing discriminations based on non-compliance with constitutional provisions on bilingualism and multiculturalism, the socio-security situation in the North West and South West Regions and solutions to end crisis and finally, possible areas of coopera...
