Youth Day Celebrations : Preparations Underway in Douala

The second preparatory meeting took place on Wednesday.

As the count down to the 53rd edition of the national youth day draws nigh, preparations have hit a higher gear in the Littoral Region. After the first meeting which took place a fortnight ago, the second preparatory meeting took place on Wednesday January 23rd in the conference room of the Governor’s office presided at by the head of the department of economic, social and cultural affairs, representing the Governor.

The meeting consisted of a reading and approval of the minutes of the last meeting, after which the head of every committee gave a report of activities carried out since the last meeting. After each presentation, suggestions were made on how to improve the work of the commission. In his opening address, the representative of the Governor called on the members of the organizing committee to show proof of responsibility and innovation to make the event a success.

It came pout from the meeting that the youth week will be organized in every division while there shall be a sensitization march on the civic engagement of youths and inculcating the values of patriotism, ecumenical prayers and award of prizes to winners in sporting and cultural competitions.
