Mount Cameroon: 536 Athletes On Starting Block

Nlemba Roger, Secretary General of the South West Athletic League has indicated that activities are in progress to have the 24th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope on Saturday February 23, 2019 in Buea. On the starting block at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, 536 national and international athletes are expected to take off to the summit of the mountain and back to the finish line.

Nlemba Roger said that all the athletes are expected on the field on that day at 6 am and by 7 am, the senior category will be on their marks. Ten minutes afterwards the veterans category will be released. The procedure will be same for the junior and relay categories.

Cameroon Tribune reporters were informed that some of the athletes are already making their presence in Buea. On Thursday and Friday prior to the race, athletes are expected to have their medical examination at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium.
