Africa’s Development : Transforming Treaties To Business Realities

The seventh edition of the largest annual conference for Africa’s private sector holds from March 25 - 26, 2019 in the Rwandan capital Kigali.

Over 1,500 business leaders, shareholders, investors as well as government officials, will for two days in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, within the framework of the seventh edition of the Africa CEO Forum, explore ways of transforming the different integration treaties in the continent into business realities. Organised since 2012 by the Jeune Afrique Media Group, the Africa CEO Forum is the largest international gathering of African private sector decision-makers and financiers.

The Kigali forum that will take place on the theme, “Open Africa: From continental treaties to business realities,” has the main objective to use regional integration to drive private sector growth and create more African champions. The President of the Africa CEO Forum, Amir Ben Yahmed, in an editorial ahead of the occasion said, “We have decided to focus this year’s forum on regional integration. Not because we naively believe that political agreements will solve the continent’s problems overnight, but because the progressive establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (as of late February, the agreement had been signed by 52 African countries and ratified by 19) must prompt the private sector to get fully involved in boosting intra-African trade and investment.”
