Women’s World Volleyball Cup : Cameroon Registers Eleven Defeats

The volleyball Lionesses were beaten by continental rivals, Kenya, 3-1 sets in their last match on Sunday September 29, 2019.
The national women’s volleyball have ended their participation at the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Cup in Japan with defeats. All did not seem to go well for the volleyball Lionesses who failed to win a match in the competition. Their participation at the World Cup in Japan leaves little or nothing to write home about. After playing a total of eleven matches, they lost all due to inexperience at the World Cup. It was the first time Cameroon participated in a competition of such magnitude and so found it difficult to cope.
For their first participation at the World Cup, Cameroon suffered eleven defeats in eleven matches. It should be recalled that Cameroon played in a tough group made up of big volleyball nations like Russia, China, USA and The Netherlands. That alone was obvious that the Lionesses had a daunting task. In their first match Cameroon lost to Russia 0-3 sets in their opening game. Cameroon however made some great strides in some matches like that against the Dominican Republic. They won two sets after being led and even drew 2-2 sets before they lost in the tie break.
