Round up : Committees Represent All Opinions, Political Leanings

The Spokesperson of the Major National Dialogue granted a press briefing on the nature, composition and mission of the working committees.
The Spokesperson of the Major National Dialogue, Dr George Ewane says the composition of the eight Committees working on the themes following the directives of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya translate the resolve to ensure a fair representation of all opinions and political leanings in the country. He spoke during a press briefing he granted on October 1, 2019 at the Yaounde Conference Centre which is the venue of the dialogue.
He disclosed that during the plenary discussion sessions, Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute who doubles as the Chairperson of the Major National Dialogue chaired on September 30, 2019, the 1,000 participants set up the various committees and their bureaus and they effectively started work yesterday. Dr George Ewane disclosed that six out of the eight committee are chaired by English-speaking Cameroonians and added that, “Cameroon is represented in all its socio-political, cultural, economic and intellectual profiles. This translates the resolve to ensure a fair representation of all opinions and political leanings in our country.” The committees that also correspond to the eight themes include: Committee on Bilingualism, Cultural diversity and Social Cohesion; Educational System; Judicial System; Decentralisation and Local Development; Reconstruction and Development of Regions affected by the crisis; Return of Refugees and Displaced Persons; Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration and the Committee on the Role of the Diaspora in the Crisis and contribution to the development of the country.
