Cultural Gala Night : Artists Demonstrate Commitment to Peace

As  Cameroonians and the world at large  today, October 4, 2019 await the recommendations of the five-day  Major National Dialogue held at the Yaounde Conference Centre focused mainly to solve the crisis in the North West and South West Regions, the message artists conveyed in song,  dance and acting  keeps on ringing in their minds.
After the presentation and adoption of reports of the eight committees that worked in the dialogue, a cultural gala night followed on October 3, 2019 to crown the historic moment in  Cameroon’s history. Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion who is chair of the Major National Dialogue,  was also  the personal representative of the Head of State, President Paul  Biya in the cultural gala night that also brought together a cross section of national dignitaries. Indeed, the cultural gala was placed under the distinguished patronage of the Head of State.
Activities of the cultural gala effectively started when the Prime Minister arrived at 9:05 p.m. What the gala night will forever be remembered for are the messages tailored to promote peace, security, national unity,  living together  and prosperity in Cameroon. The event was remarkably animated by the Mega-Choir of living together of State Universities and Higher Institutions of Learning with the Anglo-saxon Universities of Buea and Bamenda being the guest stars. After the singing of the national anthem, a group of artists in a collective creation in a sketch and songs presented,  “The chance of hope”. This was part of the prologue entitled, “Cameroon’s tribute dedicated to the memories of the deaths and victims of lootings  of war and terrorism.”
The presentation paved the way for the first part of musical displays in which artists from the 10 Regions of Cameroon took to the stage.
