All Constructive Hands On Deck!

The New Deal regime of President Paul Biya is in a festive mood this November 6, 2019, relishing the path covered in the past 37 years of his rule thus far, but obviously reflecting deep on how to surmount teething challenges that stare the system in the face. Popping champagne as may be the case in the various gatherings across the country is understandable as 37 years in power and still on, supporters would say, is not for he who wants but who can.
As supporters of the regime in power therefore bury themselves in merrymaking and at the same time seek ways of reiterating their usually unalloyed support to the man in power to level the huge mountains of trials in the country, all and sundry must as well bear in mind that the success of Cameroon is for the good of all Cameroonians and vice versa. It is common knowledge that for any congregation of people to attain desired results, especially in a country like Cameroon with as multifaceted cultures and peoples as differences, viable national building demands that no one should feel useless or be made to feel as such. The country should be made to reflect a human body where all parts (citizens) are indispensable for a smooth functioning, failing which traces of handicaps could be witnessed, as damaging as it would be.
Like in a football game, all cannot play the same role. While authorities use those whose competences have been tried and tested, others in national solidarity can pull themselves off the crowd and showcase their prowess when and where needed to advance the course of national development. Sitting permanently on the seat of mockers to rubbish all that is done or justifying dreadful acts simply because you belong to the class of “rulers” are all detrimental to the mutually-developed and acceptable Cameroon the New Deal man is striving to build.
Supporters of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement may be at the forefront of the celebrations today; logically so as they are members of the ruling party, but a better Cameroon where development is nearly balanced, where feelings of superiority and inferiority are minimised, where common interest overrides the sometimes parochial and egocentric needs of some, is built by all citizens, within and without the country; their politica...
