Territorial Administration : Governors Enjoined To Ensure Security, Dev’t

Increased direct supervision of projects, protecting persons and property during the end-of-year activities and upcoming elections while remaining vigilant was prescribed to governors.

Regional Governors have been tasked by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji to fasttract development in their respective regions by directly controlling the execution of public contracts and the promotion of peaceful social cohesion. The Minister urged the regional administrative bosses in his closing remarks at the end of a two day bi-annual conference of governors which held at the Yaounde City Town Hall from November 25 to 26, 2019 which he chaired. As end-ofyear activities are eminent, coupled with upcoming elections, Minister Atanga Nji told the governors to ensure security in their regions.

Going by the general report presented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Pierre Essomba, security dispositions have already been taken to ensure hitch-free celebrations as jointly presented by the Delegate General for National Security and the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie.
