DDR North West Center : Ex-fighters Return To Normal Life

The reintegration process for ex-fighters of the Bamenda DDR Center has been launched with the Prime Minister, Head of Government hailing tolerance and patience exercised by the ex-fighters since the first two arrived the center on December 27, 2018. Today, the center enrolls 62 ex-fighters (7 girls, 55 boys and a two-year-old baby). Launching the reintegration process at the Center on December 30, 2019 the Representative of the National Coordinator of the NCDDR, Claude Obam revealed that the Reintegration process is summed up in a change of status towards reconversion into society.  He said it is a progressive operation and involves a case by case assessment of skills acquired and availability. "The ex-fighters will not be disappointed and 2020 will be a year of new life and new look for them", he stressed. 
The Representative of the P.M, Francis Fonye reassured that the process involves accompanying measures to help the ex-combatants to be economically independent. He challenged them to be hardworking, patriotic and ready to participate in nation building. They were urged to spread the message of reconciliation and living together
