Douala : FOMARIC Trade Fair Underway

The trade fair was jointly launched by MINAS and MINCOMMERCE yesterday.

The 2020 edition of the commerce and cultural trade fair known as FOMARIC was launched yesterday in a grandiose ceremony at the Camtel paly ground in Douala presided by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, representing the Prime minister in the company of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mkpatt. The opening ceremony comprised speeches, cultural dance performances, the cutting of the ribbon and a visit of exhibitions stands.
In his launching address, the Minister of Trade said government appreciates the initiative which is the brain child of ace musician, Nkoti François, reason why the Head of State recognized the activity as being of public utility. He said the trade fair like others such as FIAC, contribute in the international resonance of Cameroon saying with the continental free trade zone to go operational in July his this year, the event will offer an opportunity for businessmen and artistes to expand their market to the entire African continent.
The Minister of Arts and Culture said he trade fair valorizes our cultural identity in view of ensuring the integral development of Cameroon. It contributes to living together in harmony and national integration. The promoter of the event, Nkotti François expressed gratitude for assistance received from government saying the theme is 20/20 so as to capitalize on the past experience to organize a hitch free event. He said the surface area of the trade fair has been increased and more exhibitions stands erected. Traffic has also been made more fluid and the exhibitions will be accompanied by workshops.
