Legislative Election Re-Run In Lebialem : Three Political Parties Competing

South West Regional Delegation of Elections Cameroon is currently finalising materials and personnel preparation.

Three political parties will be competing for the March 22, 2020 legislative by-election in Lebialem Constituency, South West Region.  They are the Social Democratic Front (SDF), Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) and Cameroon Democratic Party (CDP). The election re-run follows the decision by the Constitutional Council on February 25, 2020, canceling election operations in 11 constituencies (10 in the North West Region and one in the South West Region).
South West Regional Delegation for Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) indicated its staff is prepared to organise a successful re-run. Given that it is only one constituency concern in the South West, ELECAM intends to enhance personnel in Lebialem by bringing staff from the other five Divisional Branches in the region. For material preparation, the institution indicated that they still have some fabrics, ballot boxes, lamps etc, but any shortage will be provided by their head office in Yaounde. For the full kits which comprised of ballot papers, envelops, voters registers among others are being prepared in their head office in Yaounde. At the ELECAM
