AFCON is around the corner and Limbe/Buea will be hosting a pool, how prepared is Limbe to welcome this football jamboree?
Limbe, the town of friendship done with preparations ahead of this event but for little cleanliness here and there. In the last national inter-city competition, Limbe I Municipality emerged first as the cleanness city in Cameroon. As far as the football competition is concerned, we are presently carrying out finishing touches like clearing the sides of the road from Ombe to Idenau. We have embarked on a keep Limbe clean campaign on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. We send out the hygiene and sanitation team to go right into the quarters to make sure the work is effectively done. We go to the markets to ensure everyone puts hands on deck and make sure that the Clean City we won last October 2019 remains.
Do you have enough hotels in your town to receive guests?
Yes. Limbe is blessed with countless hotels which are of international standards. When we say Limbe is a town of friendship, we look at the hotels and I think we have enough hotels to accommodate the guests that will come into our town. We also have nice beaches. Some of the hotels are located on these beaches.
What has your town to offer to guests during this competition?
First of all, we offer the hospitality to all our guests making them feel at home. Secondly, law enforcement officers as usual will ensure that our guests are secured. Limbe has several tourists attractions. We have the Bimbia Slave Trade Village, Botanic Garden, Limbe Wild Life Centre among others. In all these places, guides are readily available to take tourists around. We have had a series of meetings with the bike riders and have curved them into five zones. Each zone has coordinator and a secretary. We have more than 5000 bike riders in Limbe I municipality. We will engage taxi drivers very soon. As such, our guests will travel with ease in town.
