Cameroon and the Union of the Comoros are two nations determined to strengthen and diversify existing bilateral relations. Views on broadening the scope of cooperation ties for mutual gains were exchanged in an audience the President of the Republic, Paul Biya granted the President of the Comoros, Azali Assoumani on January 11, 2022 at the Unity Palace. The Comorian President was in Cameroon to cheer his national team, participating in the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time.

The audience served as a platform for the two Presidents to hold talks on sports, maximising the potentials of the continent as well as surmounting challenges. Impressed by the spectacular and magnificent opening ceremony, President Azali Assoumani says he leaves Cameroon with beautiful memories of the event.

The two coastline countries share prospects of trade and developing their industries. Intensifying and diversifying trade relations, improving the healthcare systems, enhancing tourism, protecting the local market, assuring literacy and fighting against unemployment are common governmental goals projected by the two republics.
