“There Is A Lot Of Determination”

The Third Day of play is almost rounding off. What is your analysis of the level of play so far?
The level of this tournament is very high. This is because nations termed as small teams have been working hard to meet up. The teams are very strong. The new comers prepared well. A team like Comoros proved to us in this group phase that there is no small country looking at their performance. There is a lot of determination, seriousness and focus which is making the competition great. If we are not focused, we cannot play football. Congratulations to the teams that are going back, we have seen them play and play well. 

Some nations presented as small teams have succeeded to spoil the show or even eliminate some teams known as favourites, what according to you, accounts for this?
There is no small country that has qualified to play this 2021 AFCON. The nations called small teams have succeeded to eliminate some big teams. Those big countries came thinking that they will just crush these small teams but that has not been the case. The small teams have spoiled the show for many.  This is because they came well prepared and determined. The Ghanaians came with all the pride that they were coming to win but Comoros humiliated them. The Algerians came with the ego that they are champions of Africa. But they forgot that all the countries have been preparing and are equally eying the trophy.
Looking at the high level of competiveness of the tournament, do you think the favourites can still stand their grounds.
The tournament is very competitive. There is no “grand patron” in this tournament. Anybody can lift the trophy. Countries like Senegal and Egypt may come in very strong in the second round after facing major difficu...
