Livs Night-Club Tragedy: Survivors Responding To Treatment

Amongst those at the Yaounde Central Hospital, four died Sunday night and two are positively holding on to life.
48 hours after the tragic fire incident that occurred at the Livs Night Club in Yaounde, the trauma experienced by the population, particularly family members of victims is far from over. Traces of the incident are still fresh at the site of the night club in the Bastos neighbourhood as well as the Yaounde Central Hospital where some of the survivors were taken for intensive medical care. The skin of those consumed by the fire could still be seen around their hospital beds. Health care to the victims is at its optimal and free of charge as instructed by the Head of State. Amongst those taken to the hospital, four of the victims died during the night of Sunday breaking Monday, January 24, 2022. Those surviving are waxing strong as they could be seen talking to their care givers.
Kadje Leonel Armand is one of the victims who miraculously survived the fire outbreak. At about 10:00 a.m. on Monday January 24, he could be seen conversing with his care giver as he awaited a medical team to carry him out for a scan. Although the medical team refused to talk to Cameroon Tribune, medical reports revealed that Kadje Leonel Armand is coughing out a dark substance. This is not surprising to the medical team because during the fire incident, most of the victims inhaled smoke which is toxic to the lungs. Kadje Leonel Armand was immediately wheeled to the scan service for an immediate scan of his thorax system. Before being carried away for the scan, the victim narrated his ordeal to Cameroon Tribune. He is in charge of cleaning the toilet at the night club and was busy going about his duty when one of the night club clients came vomiting. Given that the client needed help, Leonel Armand spent time with the client trying to clean his mess.
