Yaounde : Supporters Disappointed After Lions Defeat

Following the loss of the Lions yesterday many fans found it difficult to bear the shock.
Fans of the Indomitable Lions are yet to come out of the shocking defeat of the Indomitable Lions yesterday February 3, 2022. From the start of the competition till the final whistle the anxious supporters were glued to their team, following them in every move. However, things turned sour after the Lions were beaten by the Pharaohs of Egypt 3-1 on penalty kicks after the game ended 0-0. As early as 8:00 a.m. many fans could be seen in neighbourhoods, city centre and work places wearing the national colours. Apart from wearing the green, red yellow T-shirts, many fans had their bodies painted to indicate their love for the team and country. After yesterday’s match against Egypt the story was not the same again.
The thousands of fans that watched the match at that fan zone at the esplanade of the Yaounde City Council had a sad story to tell. The jubilation that usually characterised every end of match of the Indomitable Lions was absent. The streets were almost empty and most beer parlours and drinking spots were deserted.
