CAR : Four UN Peacekeepers Released

The four soldiers of the French army operating under the banner of the UN arrested three days ago by authorities of the Central African Republic have been released after being suspected of plotting to kill President, Faustin Archange Touadera.

According to an announcement by the UN the four soldiers were released on Thursday without prosecution. AFP reports that, under the agreement that governs relations between the UN peacekeeping mission (Minusca) and the government, CAR legal authorities are not competent to judge the soldiers and so are forced to release them without any prosecution.
