Elite One : Canon Regresses, Coton Wakes Up

Some delayed day one, seven and advance day eight matches took place in stadiums across the country last weekend.

Canon of Yaounde are apparently on the downward trend while Coton Sport of Garoua have woken up from slumber. This is the conclusion of some Elite One delayed day one, seven and advance day eight matches that took place in stadiums across the country. Canon suffered a 0-2 defeat to AS Fortuna of Yaounde. That was the second consecutive defeat for the Mekok Me Ngonda since the start of the season. Canon Yaounde was earlier beaten by APEJES of Mfou with a similar score. 
The coach of Canon Yaounde, Minkreo Birwe said there is no reason to worry and that the team just had a break down and with pressure from supporters. He said the dream of the team was to have six matches and six victories but they could not keep to their promise. That notwithstanding, they will continue to work hard. “For the next match we will forget the defeat and work hard for a victory,” he said.  
Coton Sport of Garoua beat Dragon Yaounde 2-0 at the Bamendzi Stadium in Bafoussam in a delayed match. That was the second conservative victory for Coton this season. The win gives Coton Sport eight points from seven matches and they have now moved up to the ninth position in group B. Dragon are on the seventh spot with ten points.
