Navy Cooperation : Cameroon Prepares For Brazil's Bicentennial

Rear Admiral Jean Mendoua, Cameroon's Chief of Naval Staff, was in Douala last Thursday to set the ball rolling for their departure in August 2022.

On the invitation of the Brazilian government, Cameroon Navy on the instruction of the Head of State will participate in the celebration of Brazil's Bicentennial (200 years) of Independence at Rio de Janeiro on September 7, 2022, Brazilian Independence Day. This information was made known by Cameroon’s Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Jean Mendoua, as he undertook a guided tour to inspect some facilities of the corps in Douala on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The Chief of Staff of the Cameroon Navy was at the Naval Base where he made a detail assessment of the state of three patrol vessels due to be used for their voyage to and from Brazil's capital Rio de Janeiro in August 2022.
The Cameroon Navy is expected to represent the country in the august event which marks the countries' longstanding bilateral relations. Cameroon Navy will join their counterpart from across the globe for a march pass from September 7-17, 2022. At the end of the visit, it was decided that the patrol ships will be subjected to any necessary repairs and one of the three will be used to transport the naval delegation from Cameroon to Brazil. In addition, another patrol ship that was acquired from China will be used to make for two vessels needed for the voyage.
