Inter Clubs Athletics Meeting: Athletes Display Rich Talents

Over 200 athletes participated in the second playing day of the competition that took place at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium last weekend.

The national Inter Clubs Athletics Meeting entered the second playing day last weekend at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation, (FECAATHLETICS) the competition brought together over 200 athletes from clubs and athletics training centres in the country. It was equally an opportunity to detect young talents.

After two days of stiff competition, diverse results were recorded. In the women’s 100m Njuh Nsella (FAP) was the first in 11”84. Esseme Emmanuel and Raphaël Nganguele put up outstanding performances in the men’s 100m and 200m races. Esseme Emmanuel (BESTA) won the 200m race in 20.73 while Raphaël Nganguele (AIA) won the 100m race in 10”33. In the women’s 200m, Bell Bonong Irene (CMSP) finished the race in 24.22. Sandra Bilo’o (Mvila) was voted the best youth in the competition after she finished the women’s 800m in 2.18.51. In the men’s 5,000m André Yainam (AIA) was the best in 15.26.63 and in the women’s 5,000m Metang Kue (AIA) was the first in 19.47.13. In the men’s 10,000m, Yainam André (AIA) finished the race in 32.55.88. In the women’s 10,000m Otomo Mendouga (FAP) was the first in 42.19.89.

Good performances were recorded from the younger generation in long jump and triple jump. In the women’s triple jump, Kossendra Rey (INJS) jumped a distance of 13.01. In the men’s triple jump Gama Derrick (INJS) jumped a distance of 15.58. In the men’s high jump, Oyono Oyono (I...
