African Handball Club Winners’ Championships : Four Teams To Represent Cameroon

Some 17 clubs on the continent will take part in the competition that kicks off tomorrow May 10, 2022 in Niamey.

The 38th edition of the African men’s and Women’s African Club Cup Winners Championships will take place in Niamey, Niger, from tomorrow, May 10 to 19, 2022. Organised by the African Handball Confederation, (CAHB) the competition will bring together 17 teams on the continent. Cameroon will be represented by four teams. They are FAP (men), FAP (women), Dynamique of Bokito and Fondation André Nziko (FANZ) handball clubs, all Yaounde-based clubs. 
The Sports Director of FAP women’s handball club, Bébé Paul François said the team had been training intensively at the National Gendarmerie Stadium in Camp Yeyap. He explained that FAP women played several friendly matches with other teams in the national championship especially TKC women. He said the players are in top form and are ready for the competition. During the last edition in Meknès, Morocco, Cameroon won bronze. Bebe Paul said the objective of the team is to do better than the last edition. The Sports Director said due to difficulties encountered in obtaining passports and visas, the FAP (men) and FAP (women) handball teams will travel to Niamey in two groups.
