Acquiring Birth Certificates : Parents Urged To Register Births

This was during a two-day workshop to improve on civil Status Registration that took place in Edea.


The population of the Sanaga-Maritime Division in the littoral region have been urge to register their children at birth as well as register marriages and deaths of their loved once. This was during a two-day workshop that took place in Edea on the 27-29 of May. The workshop that was also aimed at building the capacity of Civil Status registrars in the Division was a moment to galvanize the population to take civil status registration as a way of life and do not wait for a situation to arise before rushing to acquire birth and death certificates or to register their marriages.  For two days the civil status registrars and opinion leaders received skills on how to sensitize the population so as to improve on civil status registration.
The two day workshop that was organized by the National Civil Status Office (BUNEC) has as objectives to strengthen the population's access to improved civil status services, relay the national communication-awareness campaign on civil status, contribute to the improvement of the supply of civil status services in Cameroon, to strengthen the coordination of interventions by actors in the civil status system.
