African Senior Athletics Championships : Cameroon Names Final Squad

A total of ten athletes will represent the country in the competition that will take place from June 8 to 12, 2022 in Mauritius Island.

The Cameroon Athletics Federation (FECAATHLETICS) has announced the list of athletes who will represent the country in the upcoming African Senior Athletics Championships in the Mauritius Island. The list was published on Monday May 30, 2022 in release signed by the President of FECAATHLETICS, Emmanuel Motomby Mbome
On the list are ten athletes- five men and five women. The men’s squad is led by Esseme Emmanuel Alobwede (100m, 200m). Esseme Emmanuel is Cameroon’s best athlete in the 100m and 200m. With his personal best record of 10.20 he is a hope for medal for Cameroon especially as he is training in Europe. Nganguele Mberlina Raphaël (100m, 200m). The revelation of 2021 can create surprises with his personal best of 10.33 and can win a medal. Also on the list are Bangue Bangue Elombo Jorim Leonard based in South Africa (110m) hurdles, Yinra Appolinaire (long jump) and Gama Derick Chiambah (triple jump). 
The women’s team is made up of stars like Angounou Ngouyaka Linda Christelle (200m, 400m). Angounou Linda is a boarder at the Darkar International Training Centre in Senegal. With a performance of 57.68 realised in France she is a medal hopeful. Nora Monie Atim (shot put, discus) is the third best in Africa.
