Stabilising CAR : Cameroon’s Contribution Saluted

External Relations Minister granted an audience to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary to CAR and Head of MINUSCA on June 2, 2022 during which the remark was made.

Efforts made by Cameroon geared at ensuring the stability of the Central African Republic have been appreciated by the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations to the Central African Republic and Head of MINUSCA, Valentine Rugwabiza. This was during an audience the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella granted the UN official on June 2, 2022. This is the maiden visit of Valentine Rugwabiza to Cameroon in that capacity. She was accompanied to the audience by the Resident Coordinator of UN Systems in Cameroon, Matthias Naab.  
Talking to the press after the audience, the Head of MINUSCA said Cameroon is a strategic country in many ways to the Central African Republic. “I would say most goods and services that arrive in Bangui come through the corridor between Cameroon and the Central African Republic, which MINUSCA has secured. At the security front, Cameroon for a very long time has made its contribution to peace and security in Central Africa Republic. In MINUSCA, Cameroon is one of the major troop contributing countries and we are very grateful.
