They beat the national selection of local players 4-1 during a test match that took place at the Reunification Stadium in Douala on June 4, 2022.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have shown their supremacy over a selection of local players after beating them 4-1. This was during a friendly match played at the Reunification Stadium in Douala on June 4,2022. The match aimed at preparing the Indomitable Lions for the 2nd day of play for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Head coach Rigobert Song Bahanag was in charge of the national team while the Assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions, Augustine Simo, shepherd the local players. The Reunification Stadium that hosted the clash of Lions saw Apejes of Mfou forward Joseph Vianney Apam open sores for the amateur Lions at the second minute of play into the first half. The lead on the senior team was short-lived as Nkoudou Georges-Kevin was brought down in the box which caused the local players a penalty at the 12th minute. Ignatius Ganago took the shot and transformed it into a goal which brought the match to a 1-1 tie.
Another foul on Nkoudou Georges-Kevin earned the Indomitable Lions another penalty which gave them the lead at the 18th minute thanks to Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo who netted the second goal from the penalty spot. The boys of Coach Augustine Simo were possibly a better side during the first segment of the game, dominating at the other half of the opponent side but had the problem of avoiding fouls around their end which caused them two penalties and a free kick taken by Pierre Kunde Malong that went into the waiting hands of gaol keeper, captain Djoayang. The first half of the game ended 2-1 in favour of the professionals of coach Rigobert Song Bahanag.
