Cerebral Palsy : Love Said To Be Panacea

Sometimes children are born with birth injuries. This may be due to complications during birth or pregnancy. Still some are due to the negligence of doctors, nurses and health establishments. Such results to cerebral palsy (brain damage) and may be hypotonic, ankle clonus, athetoid, spastic diplegia which some people before now considered such children to be snakes, witches or wizards. Some have gone as far as taking such children to the bank of a river and abandoned them there, thinking that they will turn into snake and disappear into water. 
Seeking help from psychologists and medical specialists can help secure lifetime benefits; both parents and society are called to love them, for love a transformative power against the condition. This is the substance of a talk between parents, psychologists and medical specialists by the association J’aime Mon BB IMC (J’aime Mon Babe d’Infirmite Matrices Cerebral) in Bonamoussadi, Douala, recently. 
The objective of the talk was to sensitise the population in view of helping to prevent the same error from happening again to other children.  
Edinguele Diboua Marie narrated with empathy and humour how her 16-year-old grandson Joseph became a child that could not walk nor talk due to cerebral palsy from the age three month. But at seven he started to talk and walk a little under help but was helped at all stages to go to school.
