Crime Investigation : Conference Sheds Light On Cyber Crimes

A press gathering to present the objectives of the forthcoming 7th forensic conference, took place on June 6, 2022 in Yaounde.

Cameroon will host the 7th global conference and exhibition of the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigations and Professionals (IICFIP) from July 19 to 21, 2022 in Yaounde. The announcement was made on June 6, 2022 during a press conference by members of IICFIP in Yaounde. The conference will be holding under the theme, “New Perspectives in Forensics in the Fight against Corruption, Cyber Terrorism and Financial Crimes in countries.” 
The conference in Cameroon follows previous ones which took place in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, United States, Zambia and Ghana. The 7th global forensic conference will be a unique, high-level platform for over 1,500 professionals from more than 100 countries to discuss challenges in the fields of finance, communication, Tele-communication, agriculture, health, public and national security in the digital era. During the press briefing, IICFIP African Continental Director, Dr Akepe Linus Enobi said the conference seeks to further the cyber security conversation beyond awareness to implementation. He said it will also forge the implementation of the AU Digital Transformation Strategy. This according to Dr Akepe Linus, will chart a comprehensive roadmap for socioeconomic development for African countries. 
The conference will focus on four key areas. One will be to fight against white-collar crimes among which are money laundering, counter terrorism financing, fraud, corruption and embezzlement. Another aspect will be to fight against cyber terrorism...
