2022 FSLC : 126,079 Candidates Undertake Exams Nationwide

A field report to some writing centres in Yaounde shows that the session is taking place hitch-free.

Some 126,079 pupils nationwide in various primary schools in the Anglophone subsystem of education are undertaking their first public examination. This is the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). It is the gateway into the secondary level of education. The exams started nationwide yesterday June 14, 2022 with Mathematics paper one and two; and English Paper One and two. The 2022 FSLC session will end today with the French paper as a second language and General paper one and two. A team of Cameroon Tribune (CT) reporters made a tour to some examination sub-centres in Yaounde yesterday June 14, 2022.  It was observed that the examination is taking place hitch-free.
At the Government Bilingual Primary School (GBPS) Bastos, a notice at the school gate reads “FSLC 2022, Sub-Centre: Bastos GBPS-No Entry for parents and class teachers into the sub-centre except for those concerned.” The President of the Examination Sub-centre, Constance Foyabo, says it was necessary to put up such a notice to avoid the overcrowding and confusion parents usually cause when accompanying their kids for the exams. GBPS Bastos is an examination sub-centre with Code CE07758. The centre is hosting 23 schools; 19 lay private schools, two government schools that is GBPS Group one and two; and two catholic schools. Constance Foyabo says some 779 candidates registered at the centre and seven were absent for the examinations. The candidates are occupying 16 classrooms with 33 invigilators, two per classroom, to supervise candidates.  The President of the Sub-centre explained that so far, no major problem has been encountered as the exams unfold.
