FIFA World Cup 2022 : All 32 Qualified Teams Known

Costa Rica and Austarlia are the last teams to qualify for the competition after the two intercontinental play-offs that took place this week.

All the teams that will take part in the FIFA 2022 World cup in Qatar are now known with Costa Rica beating New Zealand for the final place in the prestigious competition. The three places left to complete the number of qualified teams have been filled with the final intercontinental play offs. The Costa Rica national football team earned the last ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup after defeating New Zealand 1-0 in the intercontinental playoffs on Tuesday June 14, 2022 at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar. Joel Campbell scored the winning goal early in the third minute at the Al Rayyan Stadium in Qatar. Kosta Barbarouses' red card in the 69th minute did not improve New Zealand's winning chances either. The Central Americans qualified for the World Cup for the sixth time in their history. Costa Rica has been handed a tough group in the World Cup, as they will compete with Spain, Germany and Japan in the Group E. 
Still at the Al Rayyan Stadium in Qatar, Australia beat Peru 1-0 in the sixth round of penalty kicks on Monday June 13, 2022 Australia joins Group D with France, Denmark and Tunisia. In the other continental play off, Wales defeated Ukraine 1-0 in Cardiff City Stadium on June 5, 2022 to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years. Wales will play in group B with England, Iran and USA. The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino has congratulated all 32 nations on their qualification for the World Cup.
