Central African Taekwondo Championship : Competition Kicks Off Tomorrow

The seventh edition of the competition will take place this weekend at the Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde.

It will be an exciting weekend for lovers of martial arts in Cameroon and Africa in general. The seventh edition of the Central African Senior Zone IV Taekwondo Championship will kick off tomorrow June 18, 2022 at the Mfandena Gymnasium in Yaounde. Organised by the Union of Taekwondo Federations in Central Africa (UFTACET) in collaboration with the Cameroon Taekwondo Federation (FECATAE), the competition brings together the best athletes from eight countries in the Central African Sub region. For two days, the athletes will showcase their talents in a bid to get the successor of the DR Congo who are title holders. 
Ahead of the competition, preparations have reached high gear in Cameroon. The national men’s and women’s teams are making their final preparations as they wait anxiously for the competition. A total of 16 athletes (eight men and eight women) will represent Cameroon in the competition. At the Yamthe Gymnasium in Ngoussou, Yaounde, yesterday June 16, 2022 athletes were busy training under the supervision of the technical bench. The coach of the national team, Hypolie Fotso Bona said the teams have been training since February in the different categories.
