Men’s Senior Handball African Nations Cup : Cameroon Heightens Preparations

Some 22 players began training in Yaounde on Thursday June 9, 2022.


The national men’s handball team will take part in the 25th edition of the senior men’s African Nations Cup that will take place in Egypt from July 11 to 18, 2022. One month to kick off of the competition, preparations have heightened in the team. Some 22 players began training in Yaounde on Thursday June 9, 2022. 
The players are fine-tuning their skills at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex under the supervision of the head coach, Simon Menguede. The goal is to avoid errors of the previous editions and ensure the best result in the African Nations Cup. Prior to the training camp, the handball Lions had been training at the Mateco Sports Complex in Yaounde. 
During the different training sessions the coach and the players worked out winning strategies in the different compartments especially in the defence and the attack. The players who were mostly home-based are joined by professional players. Training took place twice daily from 7:00 a.m. and another session as from 4:00 p.m. While waiting for the final list of selected players to be published, the Cameroon Handball Federation (FECAHAND) has taken all the necessary measures to ensure that the players train in good condition.
