Bamenda : DDR Centre Graduates Nursery School Kids

Kids of Ex-combatants of the Bamenda DDR Centre ready for primary school next academic year.

A new chapter is in on course for children of Ex-combatants of the Bamenda DDR Centre with opportunities in formal education. In effect, the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Re-Integration centre, on June 17, 2022 graduated their first batch of nursery school pupils who now qualify for progress in the learning process in primary school
The event at the Old-Town neighbourhood of the Centre in Bamenda, featured the Coordinator, Kum Henry Ichu with a message that inspires hope for Ex-combatants and their kids. He revealed equal learning opportunities in formal education for the children, born of some Ex-combatants who dropped guns and reached out to the DDR centre while pregnant, some who got entangled and became pregnant at the centre and others who arrived the centre with children. The Coordinator hailed benefactors who helped matters for the teaching and learning process of the kids and revealed that the next move is to operate a primary school at the centre from the next academic year. Of the ten kids that graduated, six qualify for Nursery education and four are bound for primary school education.
