Government Action Fair : Modernising Public Service At Forefront

Communication Minister, René Emmanuel Sadi, on behalf of the Prime Minister chaired the official opening of the 11th edition on June 22, 2022.

The 11th edition of the Government Action Fair, best known by the French acronym SAGO has been officially opened in Yaounde. Communication Minister, René Emmanuel Sadi, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presided at the opening ceremony on June 22, 2022 in the presence of other members of government, the diplomatic corps and civil society organisation representatives. Holding under the theme, “The modernisation of Cameroonian Administration as a major lever for achieving the objectives of National Development Strategy (NDS30),” the fair ends on July 1, 2022. Different ministries and public administrations will for the ten days of the fair, make known their services, functioning and innovations to users. 
In his opening statement, the Minister of Communication said the fair has over the years become a privileged space where public administration meets with the population to present and give more clarifications on government action. Cameroon, he noted, has besides the Covid-19 pandemic which the country is progressively recovering from, being affected by other global socio-economic challengers which necessitated some adjustments, reason for the June 2, 2022 Ordinance of the President of the Republic modifying the State budget. As Cameroon keeps following its 2020-2030 development strategy as a springboard for emergence by 2035, enhancing the modernisation of the public service, Minister Sadi added, constitutes a macro space in the development process, reason enough for the theme of the 11th edition. While noting that digitalisation accelerates the progress, development and emergence of a country, he called on exhibitors to leave positive impacts on the population.
