Effective Communication : SOPECAM's Deputy GM Presents Book

Shey Dr.Peter Mabu’s publication titled "Communicating In Standard English" was presented to visitors at the Government Action Fair on June 28, 2022.
As contribution in promoting sound communication, the Deputy General Manager of Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM), Shey Peter Mabu, has presented his book to visitors at the 2022 edition of the Government Action Fair, best known by its French acronym SAGO. The author presented one of his publications titled "Communicating In Standard English" (A Corrective Guide For Students and Professionals), on June 28, 2022 at the exhibition stand of SOPECAM.
Presenting the 165-page document of six chapters divided into two parts, the author said, "The art of communication, depends primarily on a sound knowledge, or awareness of what message you have for your audience. It is this awareness of the audience and its needs that enables the communicator to decide how he/ she is going to transmit correctly the message to the listener or the reader."
Published by SOPECAM in 2015, the book focuses on confusion and misuse of words in communicating, presents common errors made in the use of prepositions, conjunctions and verbs, the influence of other languages, and hint for professional communicators. Sold at FCFA 4,000 for a copy, the publication ex-rays common errors in the media (print and audio-visual), conference rooms, congregations and in daily conversations.
