South West : Keeping Pace With Order, Security

The region has been under security check for the past six years.

The challenges are enormous these days in the South West Region when it comes to keeping pace with order, security, and safety. 
Since 2016, the current unrest with armed groups, the administration has been on their heels to restore calm and reduce the impact of such unrest. The current Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai, who took command on 14 March, 2012, at the helm of the South West has been multiplying pacific techniques of governance. He has often been appreciated during public meetings by the elite of the area as one of the few Governors to spend more time on the field than in his office to arrest situations of escalading insecurity.
The measures often taken to jugulate and deter threats have been multifarious. Generally, the protection of citizens and property which falls within the ambit of security is done in three phases in lay terms as prevention, containing, and post management of crisis situations.
In the first place, road controls act like a dragnet to fish out running criminals and have been employed to recover many cases of crime.
