Group A : Morocco, Senegal Sail To Quarter Finals

Both teams picked their spots for the second round of the ongoing WAFCON after winning all two matches played so far.

Group A of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has already produced two candidates for the quarterfinals. They are Morocco and Senegal. Both teams qualified for this phase of the competition after winning their two matches played so far in the competition amassing six points each. 
The Teranga Lionesses of Senegal was the first team to seal a spot in the quarterfinals of the competition. This followed their 1-0 victory against Burkina Faso on Tuesday at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex. They had first beaten Uganda in the first playing day in the group.
The Atlas Lionesses of Morocco picked the second spot in the quarterfinals following their 3-1 win over Uganda on match Day 2 played on July 5, 2022. They started their group campaign by winning Burkina Faso in the opener. By winning all two games, they count six points making them candidates for the quarters.
