Wonders During Marriage : Groom’s Sister Brandishes Marriage Certificate

The civil marriage between Arnold Y. and Sonita has been put on hold after the sister to Arnold (Seraphine) brandished a marriage certificate that she was legally married to her elder brother, thus the marriage between him and Sonita must not take place. In total confusion and bewilderment, family members tried to calm Seraphine down but to no avail, as she insisted: “Nous sommes légalement mariés, monogamie propriété commune”, indicating that they were legally married, monogamy and joint property.
The story goes that Arnold who has been living in Europe over the years has struggled on several instances to ensure that Seraphine, his younger sister joins him over, but it all failed. Along the line, he decided to use marriage as a way out. As a result, he came to Cameroon and “got married” to his younger sister consequently a marriage certificate was established which he used in processing her documents. This also didn’t work as the Seraphine never traveled to Europe for greener pastures.
Family sources revealed that Arnold at one point started the divorce process but abandoned halfway, knowing that it won’t cause any harm since it was his younger sister.
Things didn’t work out as Arnold thought when he returned to Cameroon two weeks ago to get married to the woman he wants to make is wife.
