Men’s Senior Handball African Nations Cup : Cameroon Confronts Egypt

The competition will begin today, July 11, 2022 at the Dr. Hassan Moustafa Indoor Sports Complex in Cairo.


The 25th edition of the Men’s Senior Handball African Nations Cup kicks off today July 11, 2022 at the Dr. Hassan Moustafa Indoor Sport Complexe in Egypt. The national men’s handball team of Cameroon will play against Egypt in the opening game at the Dr. Hassan Moustafa Indoor Sports Complex in Cairo. Barely hours to the competition, the head coach Simon Bouchard Menguede has selected 16 players who will defend the colours of the country. Out of that number, 11 are young players and will be making their first attempt in the competition. The technical bench has decided to bring in younger players in order to have a more competitive team. The new players are from the national handball championship and have been playing in continental clubs competitions. 
The handball Lions had their final training in Tunisia from June 21 to July 8, 2022. During their stay in Tunisia, the team played several friendly matches with some clubs in the Tunisian championship. The team won three friendly matches first against L’Union sportive Temmime (31-20) and then EBSBK (23-26) and Sporting Club de Moknine (41-23).
