SW Regional Assembly : Regional Hotel Envisaged

It will host councilors during sessions and also serve as an income-generating facility.

The South West Regional Assembly has deliberated on a plan to build a Regional Hotel. This was during the 3rd Ordinary Session of the institution that started yesterday July 13, 2022 in Buea and shall end today. Zachues Bakoma Elango, President of South West Regional Executive Council, said the Special Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM) has put at their disposal FCFA one billion urging them to put the money in an incoming-generating activity. The hotel is expected to have 150 rooms and a hall of about 500 capacity. Regional Councilors will lodge in during sessions.   
The 3rd Ordinary Session was dedicated to the examination of the mid-year execution at the 2022 budget of the South West Regional Assembly. From the 2022 budget which stood at FCFA 3,200 000,000, recurrent budget was FCFA 1,280,000,000 constituting 40 per cent and investment expenditure is FCFA 1,920,000,000 giving 60 per cent. The execution rate of the 2022 budget was placed at 20.18 per cent. The projects classified into four sections: improving health care and social action, promotion of economic development and environmental protection, protection of education, and governance and the local administration were listed in all the six Divisions.
