Fight Against Insecurity In Yaounde : SDO Instructs Firm Measures

The forces of law and order in the capital city Yaounde are supposedly already implementing the measures forced to be taken due to two recent artisanal bomb blasts in Mokolo Market.

The Senior Divisional Officer of Mfoundi Division that also covers the capital city, Yaounde, Djikdent Emmanuel Mariel in an order signed on July 12, 2022 instructed the forces of law and order  to execute a series of measures in order  to tackle the upsurge of artisanal bomb blasts in the city, especially in public places.
National Gendarmerie and Police officials in Yaounde have to ensure compliance with the prefectural order banning the deposit and abandonment of some objects such as bags, packages, packaging and plastics bags in all public places and places open to the public. Elements of the forces of law and order are authorised to search bags or packages judged suspicious, mainly black plastic bags. He also said the unjustifiable possession of some objects are considered as dangerous preparations. All violators of the instructions are considered suspects.
The instructions of the Senior Divisional Officer come after two artisanal bomb blasts in the Mokolo Market on July 2, 2022 and July 12, 2022 in which some five people were injured. Nobody or group of persons have claimed responsibility for the blasts.
